I'm a curious Caucasian who chooses to depart from the familiar. After ten years of study of things Asian and Asian-American, and journeys to Japan, Vietnam, China and India, I know enough to know I'll never know enough. I don't mind being an outsider if I can see beauty as defined by other cultures and inhale the freshened sense of life that comes with encountering the new and different, especially if it's not a 14 hour plane flight away.
